The sunset over the Indian Ocean can be breathtaking, and you can enjoy a drink at the Cable Beach Surf Club, which is only a short stroll away. But there is plenty for you to do in Cable Beach and Broome other than dip your toes in the sea​.

Great Restaurants within walking distance

Experience the magic of the Staircase to the Moon. This natural phenomenon occurs when the full moon rises over the exposed mudflats of Roebuck Bay, creating an optical illusion of a golden staircase. The Mangrove Hotel is a great spot to view this natural phenomenon.

Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park and Animal Refuge​

Enter another world through the jaws of a giant saltwater crocodile. Constructed over several months in 2005, the giant fiberglass head is already recognised as the best example of its kind in the world.
The famous daily feeding tour showcases some of the largest crocodiles on display in Australia.

Town Beach and Pioneer Park
​
Broome has large stretches of beach appearing daily as the tide rapidly recedes. If you are prepared to get a little wet and don’t mind an early start, a morning walk along the tidal flats from Town Beach at very low tide on certain dates throughout the year will reward you with a close up view of the rusted remains of the Catalina flying boats from the Second World War.
Dinosaur Coast

Recent discoveries by Palaeontologists in Broome have led to the discovery of more dinosaur footprints – some of the largest in the entire world. The Sun Pictures building in Broome’s Chinatown was constructed at the turn of the century (1903) on a site owned by the Yamasaki family. It is the oldest outdoor thatre in Australia playing the latest movies. Sun Pictures officially opened on December 9th 1916 with a silent movie, English Racing Drama ‘Kissing Cup’ with supporting ‘Bachelor Brown’ Comic. Today it plays

We are lucky to have this amazing sanctuary next door to our caravan park. The Buddha Sanctuary ioffers daily yoga and a place for quiet reflection in our meditation garden. Built in 2003, the Buddha Sanctuary was created for the local community as a space for inner peace and stillness, through spiritual practise.
